Cameroon National Day

Cameroon National Day is observed annually on May 20.

It commemorates the 1972 referendum that abolished the federal system, uniting East (French-speaking) and West (English-speaking) Cameroon into a single, unitary Republic of Cameroon. The day symbolizes national unity and the consolidation of the country’s diverse cultural and linguistic groups under a single government.
