Cow urine was patented by the United States (US 6410059 B1) for its medicinal properties, following other indigenous Indian remedies like neem, turmeric, and Jamun.

Union HRD minister Murli Manohar Joshi said the patent demonstrated the use of cow urine distillate as an ‘‘activity enhancer’’ for anti-infective and anti-cancer agents.
