Goa Statehood Day – India

Goa Statehood Day or Goa State Formation Day also known as Goa Rajya Din is celebrated on May 30 every year.

It is to commemorate May 30, 1987, the day when Goa became the 25th state of the Indian Union. After enduring over 450 years of Portuguese colonial rule, Goa was liberated by Indian armed forces in 1961 through Operation Vijay, marking the beginning of its journey toward full statehood.
