Second Governor of the ‘Reserve Bank of India’.

Member of the Indian Civil Service (ICS).

Deputy Controller in the Currency Department of the Government of India.

He was appointed Companion of the Order of the Indian Empire (CIE).

Later promoted to Knight Commander of the Order of the Indian Empire (KCIE), after which he was entitled to the title “Sir.”
