Jordan Independence Day

Jordan Independence Day is celebrated annually on May 25th.
Following the end of World War I and the dissolution of the Ottoman Empire, the region known as Transjordan came under British mandate. On May 25, 1946, the Treaty of London was ratified, and Transjordan was declared the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, with Emir Abdullah I becoming its first king.
This day is now celebrated as Jordan’s Independence Day.
