LGMD Awareness Day

LGMD Awareness Day (Limb-Girdle Muscular Dystrophy Awareness Day) is observed every year on September 30.

It was launched in 2015 by the LGMD community to raise awareness about limb-girdle muscular dystrophies (LGMDs).

This is a group of rare, progressive genetic neuromuscular disorders that cause weakness and wasting of the muscles in the shoulders, hips, thighs, and upper arms.
