World Arthritis Day

World Arthritis Day (WAD) is observed every year on October 12th.

It is to raise global awareness about arthritis and other rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases (RMDs).

First established in 1996, the day aims to educate people about these chronic conditions that affect over 500 million people worldwide, including nearly 60 million in the United States.

Supported by organizations such as Arthritis.org, World Arthritis Day promotes early diagnosis, effective treatment, patient advocacy, and myth-busting around arthritis, while honoring the resilience and determination of those living with the condition.
