World Thrombosis Day

World Thrombosis Day, observed annually on October 13th.

It is to raises awareness about thrombosis—blood clots forming in veins or arteries, potentially causing deep vein thrombosis (DVT), pulmonary embolism (PE), heart attacks, or strokes.

One in four people worldwide dies from clot-related causes, making it the third leading cardiovascular death cause.

Launched in 2014 by the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH), it promotes prevention, early detection, and public education.
