He got titles ‘Unsung Indian Scientific Hero’, ‘Hero of Soviet Industry’.

He conducted pioneering research in tribochemistry, focusing on lubricants that reduce friction between machine parts.

His work laid the foundation for modern lubrication chemistry and played a key role in advancing fuel technology.

Ambassador Inder Gujral praised him at funeral as: “We are bidding goodbye to a great scientist, a great son of India and son of mankind.”
