Erramati Mangamma, also known as Mangayamma Yaramati, from Hyderabad, India, became the world’s oldest woman to give birth to twins.

On September 5, 2019, at the age of 74, she delivered two healthy baby girls through a cesarean section.

Having reached menopause nearly 25 years earlier, she conceived using in vitro fertilization (IVF) with a donor egg and her husband’s sperm.

Her pregnancy was closely monitored, and after the delivery, she received intensive post-operative care to ensure her recovery.

Although some initial reports mentioned her age as 73, official records confirmed she was 74 at the time, making her the oldest verified mother in history and the oldest to give birth to twins.
